Who I Am

About Janna Alison

I am so happy you are here!

I’m Janna, owner and principal photographer of Janna Alison Photography. You may have known me under my previous business name, capture our moments photography – if you did, thank you for heading over this way!

In 2008, my photography business was born as I sat at my dining room table realizing that each step I took was a step towards achieving my dreams. And if you know me, you’ll know slow is hard – so I didn’t step – I leaped.

While my business name may have changed, who I am and what I offer as a photographer has not. I re-branded as Janna Alison as I wanted it to fully represent who I am – and what better way to do that than by putting my name on it. I pride myself in offering a real experience. I capture you for who you are. I become a part of your family during your wedding, I crawl around on the floor with the little ones during portrait sessions and tear up when I experience moments so sweet they would take your breath away.

It’s these moments, the little ones and the big ones, why I do what I do.

It’s this realness and honesty that I offer my clients. These vibrant colors. A photojournalistic style. A casual creativity that meets you exactly where you are.

My mom says I’ve been in a hurry since the day I was born. And she is so right. There is so much life and I just want to be a part of it, to experience it, and, well, to capture it in photographs.

I’m a jeans and t-shirt, girl-next-door type. During my downtime, I am loving renovating our new house where I live with #thebestboyfriendever and our two cats – Penny and Pippa. I’m a lover of fall football, anything cooked on the grill, ice-cold sauvignon blanc, country music (preferably live) and beach volleyball.

I’m the kind of person who dances (badly) when I nail the shot. I am a roll-the-windows-down-and-sing type.

My life is ALL sorts of vibrant.

So, thank you for being here – for reading about me and coming on this crazy journey. Do I sound like the photographer you have been looking for? I hope so.
